DJ MARKET TALK: M'sia Glove Makers Extend Rise As H1N1 Toll Rises

0331 GMT [Dow Jones] Malaysia's rubber glove makers continue to hog limelight with growing number of influenza A(H1N1) victims, say dealers; death toll rose to 26 in Malaysia (as of Sunday) and the government is considering drastic measures including social distancing to contain situation, says New Straits Times report. "Share prices of surgical glovemakers have been experiencing a solid run this year, both as a result of lower commodity prices and surging demand. This momentum is likely to persist in the near- to mid-term on growing concerns over the spread of the disease," says dealer. Notes, local manufacturers currently increasing production lines and production capacity to meet overflowing demand. Among gainers, Latexx (7064.KU) +3.6% at MYR2.04, Supermax (7106.KU) +7.3% at MYR2.93, Adventa (7191.KU) +9.3% at MYR1.89. (VGB)
