DJ MARKET TALK: CIMB Keeps Overweight On Malaysia Equities

0056 GMT [Dow Jones] CIMB keeps Overweight call on Malaysia equities, retains KLCI end-2010 target of 1400 points; in strategy report, analyst notes foreign funds turned net buyers of Malaysian equities in August. "Though expected, we are heartened by this news as the steep sell down in July had caught us by surprise. Another cause for cheer is the size of net inflow, which, at $87 million, is the second highest monthly increase this year," analyst says. Thinks September could be another month of net inflows as global markets, though charting new year-highs, have been jittery, investors have been quick to take profit, shift to more defensive markets. KLCI ended down 0.9% at 1205.95 Monday.

DJ MARKET TALK: Hwang-DBS Vickers Initiates TA Enterprise At Buy

0306 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: Hwang-DBS Vickers initiates coverage on TA Enterprise (4898.KU) with Buy call, MYR2.10 target based on 13X FY11-12F EPS for broking business and revaluing its 55% stake in TA Global's property assets at current market value. Says TA is established player in local stockbroking industry, 5th largest market cap property stock with prime KLCC landbank; but stockbroking remains core earnings driver contributing 60% of EBIT for FY10F. Adds TA is better alternative to Bursa Malaysia to ride recovery in trading volumes given latter's richer valuations. "Given TA's strong retail base, it has managed to raise its market share of the stockbroking business to 6.4% up to August 2009 vs 3.9% in 2008. Projects TA to post net profit of MYR107 million in FY10 (ending January 31), MYR124 million in FY11 and MYR153 million in FY12 vs MYR92 million in FY09. Stock last +1.4% at MYR1.41.

DJ MARKET TALK: CS Starts Genting Singapore At Underperform

I DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS ONE I AM STILL LOOKING TO RE-ENTER GENTING SINGAPORE AFTER TAKING PROFITS AT 1.20 BEFORE THE RIGHTS OFFERING. IF YOU REMEMBER THE LAST SELL CALL ON THIS STOCK WAS WRONG (SEE OLDER POSTS) IT WENT STRAIGHT UP AFTERWARDS. RIGHT NOW, I WOULD LET IT SETTLE UNLESS YOU ARE HOLDING FOR LONG TERM OR PLAYING THE RIGHTS OFFERING, MY TARGET IS AROUND 2 DOLLARS LONG TERM.

0109 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: Credit Suisse initiates Genting Singapore (G13.SG) at Underperform, sets S$0.90 target price. Broker says expectations for gaming company's new casino-resort on Singapore's Sentosa Island are high, thinks risks lie on downside. Warns first year casino revenues may disappoint with key swing factor the proportion of VIP spend vs mass market. Thinks VIP punters may not visit Singapore as frequently as Macau due to longer travel times, Macau casino tour operators may be deterred from setting up camp in Singapore due to smaller market size, licensing requirements. Notes shares up over 140% in past 12 months, says Genting Singapore now third most expensive casino stock in the world, most expensive large cap under broker's Singapore coverage. Says target price based on FY10 EV/EBITDA multiple of 15X, putting it at top end of Macau plays' range. Shares +2.7% at S$1.13.

DJ MARKET TALK: KLCI Down 0.8% Midday; 1200 Support May Hold

0446 GMT [Dow Jones] KLCI down 0.8% at 1207.14 in thin volume, mirroring weak regional bourses following decline on Wall Street Friday, say dealers. "Trade was very choppy throughout the morning with short-term investors locking-in recent gains in expectation of a steeper pullback," says dealer. However, thin trading volume suggests selling pressure relatively mild; index may find strong psychological support at 1200. Among decliners, plantation stocks worst hit with Sime Darby (4197.KU) shedding 0.6% to MYR8.53, IOI Corp (1961.KU) losing 2.3% at MYR5.22, KL Kepong (2445.KU) retreating 0.9% to MYR13.86. On upside, handful of penny-stocks and speculative issues advanced but profit-taking may narrow gains later, says dealer; among gainers LFE Corp (7170.KU) +11% at 45.5 sen, NSTP (3999.KU) +1.8% at MYR1.59 and Proton (5304.KU) +1.0% at MYR4.26. Maxis To Sell 30% Shares In IPO

DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)--Saudi Telecom Co., which owns 25% of Malaysia's Binariang GSM Holding, said Saturday the Malaysian holding company is studying selling 30% of the shares of its Maxis Communications Bhd. unit on Malaysia's bourse due to attractive market conditions.

Maxis, Malaysia's leading mobile phone operator, is in discussions with Malaysian regulatory authorities and has received preliminary approval for the offering, Saudi Telecom said in a statement on the Saudi bourse Web site.

The initial public offering will "finance the future expansion of the group" and comes at a time of "current attractiveness of the Malaysian market," Saudi Telecom said.

Saudi Telecom said it would release details of the offering, and its financial impact on the company, at a later stage.

Maxis said earlier this month in a draft prospectus for the IPO that it plans to sell 2.25 billion shares in a planned November sale. The sale would raise about $2 billion, according to analysts.

DJ MARKET TALK: CIMB Keeps Malaysia Gaming Sector At Overweight

0200 GMT [Dow Jones] CIMB retains Overweight rating on Malaysian number forecasting operators (NFO); says introduction of new 4 digit Jackpot game by Multi-Purpose Holdings (3859.KU) unit Magnum Corp may help claw back some sales lost to illegal operators, sales from other legal operators but impact would be minimal. "For Tanjong (2267.KU), the short-term negative impact is largely offset by the possibility that it may also get a new jackpot game," says analyst in report. Still, thinks impact on Berjaya Sports-Toto will be greater as it is no longer the only NFO offering jackpots. Cuts B-Toto FY10-12 earnings, DPS estimates by up to 2%, trims DDM-based target price to MYR5.85 from MYR5.95 but retains Outperfrom call. Keeps Genting (3182.KU) as top pick in sector with Outperform rating, MYR9.30 target price. MPHB flat at MYR1.90; Tanjong flat at MYR15.14, Berjaya Sports-Toto (1562.KU) +0.2% at MYR4.46.

DJ Syed Mokhtar Bidding For Proton Stake-Report

KUALA LUMPUR (Dow Jones)--Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhary, a major shareholder of DRB-Hicom Bhd. (1619.KU), has submitted a plan to buy a block of shares in Malaysian national car maker Proton Holdings Bhd. (5304.KU), the Edge reported Saturdayquoting unnamed sources.

“Syed Mokhtar put in a bid to the government two weeks ago for a stake in Proton. He is certainly offering what the market is trading at. The number of shares he is bidding for is not known, but it certainly will not trigger a mandatory general offer,” a source was quoted by the financial weekly as saying.

There are also other parties believed to be bidding, the source said. “[Syed Mokhtar] believes that DRB-Hicom and Proton are a good fit,” the source was reported as saying.

In recent weeks, there had been intense speculation that a new shareholder will emerge in Proton, including perhaps Volkswagen being interested in a manufacturing partnership with the car maker. Volkswagen had been reported as calling the talks preliminary. State investment arm Khazanah Nasional Bhd. holds a 42.7% stake in Proton. The auto maker’s stock ended Friday at MYR4.44.

DJ Maxis Shrs Likely Between MYR5-MYR6 In Planned IPO-Report

KUALA LUMPUR (Dow Jones)--The shares of Malaysia’s top mobile operator Maxis Bhd. will likely be priced at between 5.00 and 6.00 ringgit in a planned initial public offering later this year, the Edge financial weekly reported quoting an unnamed source as saying Saturday.

“Currently the price range is thereabouts. It could go higher but it shouldn’t go beyond MYR7.00,” the Edge reported quoting a source familiar with the deal.

Maxis, which had posted Friday a draft prospectus on the Web Site of Malaysia’s Securities Commission for public comment, said that it plans to sell 2.25 billion shares. The company said it plans to sell 2.075 billion shares to institutional investors and 174.8 million shares to retail investors. The offer represents 30% of the company's existing share capital.

No offer price has been set, but analysts had earlier estimated that Maxis could raise some $2 billion. That would be the largest share IPO in Malaysia for several years and would underline the growing appetite for initial public offerings in Asia as the region begins to emerge from the global economic crisis.

DJ MARKET TALK: Proton Down 4.6%; May Extend Fall To MYR4.0

0310 GMT [Dow Jones] Proton (5304.KU) down 4.6% at MYR4.18 on profit-taking from recent rally, says dealer; stock +40.9% month-to-date partly on confirmation it's restarted talks with Germany's Volkswagen (VOW.XE) for strategic tie-up. "Adding fuel to fire was a plethora of other M&A possibilities thrown up by the local media including a management buyout and the possibility of the company being taken private. These factors contributed to the surge in share price but the stock is overbought and no conclusive deal has been hammered out as yet by either a foreign party or any of the local players," says dealer. Proton's daily charts point to near term weakness with RSI hooking down and Stochastic poised for bearish crossover; stock may tumble further, to MYR4.0 (psychological support) in absence of fresh drivers.

DJ MARKET TALK:Star Cruises Turnaround May Lift Genting M'sia-UOB

0140 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: Star Cruises' (S21.SG) 2Q09 results show cruise operator has turned around, UOB KayHian says. Notes 2Q09 net profit +4.4% on-year at US$15.4 million as effective cost management offsets weak demand partly due to H1N1 outbreak. Adds, Star Cruises' 50%-owned Resorts World Manila casino also started operations Aug. 28, offers important intermediate-term growth driver. Expects company could erase 2009 losses by 2011 as significantly firmer contributions from NCL and Resorts World Manila more than offset challenges within Asian cruise business due to rising competition from land-based casinos. Notes Genting Malaysia (4715.KU) owns 19% of cruise operator; Star Cruises makes up 6.6% of GENM's RNAV of MYR3.26/share. Says if Star Cruises trades at high-end of potential RNAV of US$0.27-US$0.36/share, could boost GENM's RNAV by 3%. Rates GENM at Buy, target at MYR3.26; doesn't rate Star Cruises. Star Cruises +3.9% at US$0.27; GENM +1.1% at MYR2.82.

"We believe Proton has more potential toward MYR5.00 in the medium term. The bullish Cup and Handle pattern was already completed with a breakout at MYR3.50. Valuation upgrades by analysts in recent days have also fueled interest in the stock, but it is looking overbought after rising 25% over the last month," says dealer. DJ MARKET TALK: Ranhill May Rise To MYR1.04 Based On Charts

0028 GMT [Dow Jones] Bullish daily charts suggest Ranhill (5030.KU) may extend recent gains and rise to test resistance at MYR1.04 (July peak) in coming days, Dow Jones technical analysis suggests. Two weeks ago, key resistance formed by 30-day and 100-day moving averages at 94 sen was convincingly breached. RSI hooked up recently while bullish crossover on MACD suggests base-building activities at current price levels. Traders may consider accumulating Ranhill above 94 sen support and ride on stock's upside potential. Psychological resistance at MYR1.00. Shares ended down 1.0% at 97 sen Friday.

DJ MARKET TALK: STI Off 1.3% But Can Still Head Higher S/T -DMG

0126 GMT [Dow Jones] Singapore stocks retreat, mirroring decline in Japan, South Korea bourses, in wake of Wall Street's pullback. STI down 1.3% at 2,645.54, with market breadth at 3 decliners for every gainer. If last week's lowest close of 2,643 fails to hold as support, next support for STI expected at 2,600; any rebound unlikely to clear year-to-date high of 2,707. Still, DMG technical analyst James Lim says now is opportune time for short-term investors to accumulate; "we believe that the STI could still make further inroads before entering into a correction phase." Eyes near-term target of 2,770 for STI; "we therefore advocate investors not to liquidate, but hold on to their portfolios for further gains, while traders looking for an entry point are advised to enter the market now." Penny stocks continue to dominate trade.

DJ MARKET TALK:KLCI May Extend Gains Despite Wall Street Pullback

0042 GMT [Dow Jones] KLCI may ignore mild pullback on DJIA Friday (down 0.2%) and extend recent gains after breaking through stiff psychological resistance at 1,200 Friday, say dealers. "Despite the low volume (Friday), the weekly market internals are still strong and confirm the resumption of the uptrend which started since March 2009. Technical indicators are all in bullish position. Both RSI and MACD are hooking upwards," says MIMB. Dealers say interest in finance, construction, oil & gas and property stocks likely to keep market buoyant; do not discount possibility of KLCI breaching 2009 high of 1,210.36 and rising to 1,216 (April 2008 trough). On downside, initial support at 1,200.

DJ MARKET TALK: AmRes Ups Proton Fair Value To MYR4.80 Vs MYR3.89

0728 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: AmResearch raises Proton Holdings (5304.KU) fair value to MYR4.80 from MYR3.89 based on 0.8X adjusted NTA from 0.7X previously to reflect increasing prospects of strategic structural improvements and positive news flow ahead. Says local auto industry has shown signs of bottoming, views as strategic period for foreign car makers to come into picture. Says believes Proton's search for partner still ongoing, with talks initiated since late 2008. "While we do not rule out further talks with VW (VOW.XE), we think the negotiating table is too lopsided to lean favorably toward Proton. Rather, we think talks will involve smaller European car makers with minimal manufacturing, market & R&D exposure in Asia, leading us to believe Renault is a likely suitor." Keeps at Buy. Adds, stock trading at depressed valuations, tips upside surprise should partnership materialize. Shares +0.8% at MYR3.74.

Rubber set to continue uptrend

keep an eye out on the rubbers this week, might buy back in for short term trade.....

IF your going to waste time, waste it with someone you love ;)

WASTE- PHISH

Don't want to be an actor pretending on the stage
Don't want to be a writer with my thoughts out on the page
Don't want to be a painter cause everyone comes to look
Don't want to be anything where my life's an open book

A dream its true
But I'd see it through
If I could be....
Wasting my time with you

Don't want to be a farmer working in the sun
Don't want to be an outlaw always on the run
Don't want to be a climber reaching for the top
Don't want to be anything where I don't know when to stop

A dream its true
But I'd see it through
If I could be....
Wasting my time with you

So if I'm inside your head
Don't believe what you might have read
You'll see what I might have said
To hear it

Come waste your time with me
Come waste your time with me

So if I'm inside your head
Don't believe what you might have read
You'll see what I might have said
To hear it

Come waste your time with me
Come waste your time with me
Come waste your time with me
Come waste your time with me

Come waste your time with me

DON'T WASTE TIME!!! BE PATIENT YES, BUT TREAT EVERYDAY AS IF IT WAS YOUR LAST!!!

CHARACTER ZERO - PHISH

I was taught a month ago
To bide my time and take it slow
But then I learned just yesterday
To rush and never waste the day
Well I'm convinced the whole day long
That all I learn is always wrong
And things are true that I forget
But no one taught that to me yet

I ought to see the man mulcahey

I was taught a month ago
To bide my time and take it slow
But then I learned just yesterday
To rush and never waste the day
Now I'm convinced the whole day long
That all I learn is always wrong
And things are true that I forget
But no one taught that to me yet

REFLECTION.....HOW DO YOU INTERPRET THIS SONG? WALK ON THE OCEAN?

To some it might seem to be a sad song, but it's just fact if you are in search of something and you will not stop looking till you find it. Where is the place? Where everything is better, and everything is safe? Take a walk on the ocean, if your not happy with where you are, you'll be glad you did... That is, if you want to... I have, and have found my place.... I hope you have found yours..... This song is just about life, plain and simple, for some people that is... Just don't fall off the stones!!!

WALK ON THE OCEAN Songwriters: Dinning; Guss; Nichols; Phillips

we spotted the ocean at the head of the trail
where are we going, so far away
somebody told me this is the place
where everything's better and everything's safe

walk on the ocean
step on the stones
flesh becomes water
wood becomes bone

half and hour later we packed up our things
said we'd send letters regarding those little things
they knew we were lying they smiled just the same
it seemed they'd already forgotten we'd came

walk on the ocean
step on the stones
flesh becomes water
wood becomes bone (twice)

now back at the homestead
where the air makes you choke
people don't know you
and trust is a joke
don't even have pictures
just memories to hold

grow sweeter each season
as we slowly grow old

PATIENCE..... THE GREAT THINGS IN LIFE TAKES TIME!!

FOR INVESTING, GOALS IN LIFE, FAMILY, IF YOU WAIT IT WILL COME... BUT YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IT!!

JUST WAIT

Music & lyrics: John Popper- BLUES TRAVELLER

If ever you are feeling like you're tired
And all your uphill struggles leave you headed downhill
If you realize your wildest dreams can hurt you
And your appetite for pain has drunken its fill

I ask of you a very simple question
Did you think for one minute that you are alone
And is your suffering a privilege you share only
Or did you think that everybody else feels completely at home

Just wait
Just wait
Just wait
And it will come

If you think I've given up on you you're crazy
And if you think I don't love you well then you're just wrong
In time you just might take to feeling better
Time is the beauty of the road being long

I know that now you feel no consolation
But maybe if I told you and informed you out loud
I say this without fear of hesitation
I can honestly tell you that you make me proud

Just wait
Just wait
Just wait
And it will come
Just wait
Just wait
Just wait
And it will come

If anything I might have just said has helped you
If anything I might have just said helped you just carry on
Your rise uphill may no longer seem a struggle
And your appetite for pain may all but be gone

I hope for you and cannot stop at hoping
Until that smile has once again returned to your face
There's no such thing as a failure who keeps trying
Coasting to the bottom is the only disgrace

Just wait
Just wait
Just wait
And it will come
Just wait
Just wait
Just wait
And it will come
Just wait
Just wait
Just wait
And it will come

Never, ever, ever give up!!!! Truly inspirational.... If you are thinking about throwing in the towel, check this out!!

Rush: A Show of Hands "Time Stands Still" track 13 5:11
Alex Lifeson, Geddy Lee, Neil Peart

I turn my back to the wind
To catch my breath
Before I start off again.
Driven on without a moment to spend
To pass an evening with a drink and a friend

I let my skin get too thin
I'd like to pause
No matter what I pretend
Like some pilgrim
Who learns to transcend
Learns to live as if each step was the end

(Time stand still)
I'm not looking back
But I want to look around me now
(Time stand still)
See more of the people and the places that surround me now
Time Stands still
Freeze this moment a little bit longer
Make each sensation a little bit stronger
Experience slips away
Experience slips away

Time Stands still

I turn my face to the sun
I Close my eyes
Let my defenses down
All those wounds that I can't get unwound

I let my past go too fast
No time to pause
If I could slow it all down
Like some captain, whose ship runs aground
I can wait until the tide comes around

(Time stand still)
I'm not looking back
But I want to look around me now
(Time stand still)
See more of the people and the places that surround me now
Freeze this moment a little bit longer

MAKE EACH SENSATION A LITTLE BIT STRONGER

Make each impression, a little bit stronger
Freeze this motion a little bit longer
The innocence slips away
The innocence slips away...

Time stands still
Time stands still

I'm not looking back
But I want to look around me now
See more of the people and the places that surround me now
Time stands still

Summer's going fast, nights growing colder
Children growing up, old friends growing older
Freeze this moment a little bit longer
Make each sensation a little bit stronger
Experience slips away
Experience slips away...
The innocence slips away.

Just a quick thought I would like to share as I listen to one of my favorite bands....Take the time to enjoy life everyday with the people whom you care about and whom impact your life. Don't let the experiences of life pass you by without learning and growing from them. Learn from your mistakes and failures. Never give up on your dreams. Make every moment count. Life is precious... sometimes you have to take a step back and realize that everything you do has an impact on something or someone. Rush lyrics...very powerful... Take a look around once in a while... Time stands still.....

DJ MARKET TALK: Genting Singapore Down 5.9% On Rights Issue

0300 GMT [Dow Jones] Genting Singapore (G13.SG) heads lower on dilution impact from rights issue; shares down 5.9% at S$1.12 with order book quotes suggesting near-term support at S$1.10. Shares trading just below theoretical ex-rights price of S$1.125, trader says this is likely due to recent run up in shares, "there was a lot of froth there, so they needed a bit of a pause anyway." Gaming company to raise up to S$1.63 billion in 1-for-5 rights issue at $0.80/share. "Given the recent run-up in its share price, we believe it may be an opportune time to raise some cash from the market to add to its kitty," says OCBC Investment Research. Adds, concerns over cost overruns at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) and payment of loan obligations likely overdone. "Instead, we see the move as more of an insurance, should there be any hiccups in the global financial system again." Maintains Hold, lifts target to S$1.05 from S$0.85 to reflect possibility of RWS opening before end 2009 and more upbeat regional economic outlook.

DJ MARKET TALK: Genting Singapore May Slip On Rights Issue

0021 GMT [Dow Jones] Genting Singapore (G13.SG) may slip when trading halt lifted at market open as investors price in dilution from rights issue. But given strong demand for shares recently, downside may be limited. Support tipped at theoretical ex-rights price of S$1.125; shares halted yesterday, closed +1.7% at S$1.19 Tuesday. Gaming company, which is set to open casino-resort on Singapore's Sentosa island early next year, announces it will raise up to S$1.63 billion in 1-for-5 rights issue priced at S$0.80/share. Company says about 60% of net proceeds will be used for future strategic opportunities, rest for working capital. UBS says casino project "fully funded," believes cash more likely earmarked for new investments outside Singapore. Maintains Sell call with unchanged S$0.82 price target. JPMorgan trims target price to S$1.15 from S$1.20 to factor in increase in number of shares. Maintains Overweight rating as says stock could trade up to S$1.95 in bullish case for new casino.

DJ MARKET TALK:STI May Edge Up On US Cue; Genting S'pore May Slip

0029 GMT [Dow Jones] Singapore shares may edge higher after Wall Street closed up for fourth straight session (DJIA +0.5%). Regional cues also suggest upward bias with Nikkei 0.7% at open; Kospi, ASX also higher. Resistance for STI tipped at year-to-date highest close of 2,681 (hit Aug. 3); STI closed down 0.4% at 2,650.48 yesterday. Strategist at local house says Singapore market looks "rangebound" near-term; "the market tends to be quiet around this time of year, though things could pick up in November when people start looking forward to 2010 economic growth and the opening of the integrated resorts." Newsflow still thin, though Genting Singapore (G13.SG) in focus, may slip on dilution concerns, as shares resume trading after announcement of rights issue.

DJ MARKET TALK: Green Packet May Rise On Report Seeks Wimax Stake

0020 GMT [Dow Jones] Telecommunications and broadband services provider Green Packet (0082.KU) may rise to test 200-day moving average of 75 sen vs yesterday's close at 70 sen (down 2.0%) on New Straits Times report company in talks to buy a stake in a foreign Wimax licensee by the end of this year. "We definitely want to secure one more Wimax license by the end of this year," Green Packet's CEO Puan Chan Cheong was quoted as saying; adds, funding won't be an issue as company raised some MYR100 million in recent cash call exercise. "Given the strong potential in the wireless business, Green Packet's move to expand overseas should bode well for the bottomline in the long-term," says dealer with local brokerage.

DJ MARKET TALK: Genting S'pore Rts Would Weigh On Parent -AmRes

0401 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: Planned rights issue by Genting Singapore (G13.SG) is puzzling as company has sufficient funds, with end-June loan drawdown by Resorts World at Sentosa S$1.7 billion out of S$4.2 billion, AmResearch analyst Gan Huey Ling says; suspects RWS development cost may have exceeded budgeted cost, believes rights-issue proceeds could be channeled to Western Zone construction. Says 20% discount to S$1.19 closing price implies rights issue price of S$0.952, assuming raising S$1 billion, would mark 1-for-9 rights issue. People familiar with situation tell Dow Jones GENS plans to raise US$1 billion in rights issue. Says Genting Bhd (3182.KU), which owns 54% GENS stake, would have to pay MYR1.3 billion or S$550.3 million for its entitlement. Notes at end-FY08, Genting Bhd.'s company level net cash at MYR310 million, while 48.5%-owned Genting Malaysia's (4715.KU) at MYR5.1 billion at end-June; indicates if Genting Bhd. were to subscribe, might need to borrow or rely on dividend increase from Genting Malaysia or Genting Plantations (2291.KU). Keeps Buy on Genting Bhd., GENS, Genting Malaysia, puts Genting Bhd., GENS fair values under review.(LES)

DJ MARKET TALK: Top Glove 4Q Pft Likely +11%-18% On-Qtr -Maybank

0229 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: Maybank Investment Bank Research says Top Glove's (7113.KU) fiscal 4Q net profit could reach MYR47 million to MYR50 million (+11% to +18% on-quarter), driven by +3% on-quarter expansion in orders, lower interest expenses following retirement of loans, and lower input costs as latex prices down 14% on-quarter; tips full year to August net profit at MYR160 million to MYR163 million. Expects second dividend per share of 8 sen to 9 sen vs 4Q08's 6 sen, due to improved earnings; adds dividend payout should remain at slightly above 20% of net profit (FY08: 22%). Notes Top Glove should also remain in net cash position for 3rd consecutive quarter, with end-May at MYR83 million; keeps Buy with unchanged target of MYR8.30. Results release expected in October. Stock last +0.1% at MYR7.06. (ECH)

DJ MARKET TALK: KLCI Likely To Open Up, But Pft-Taking May Emerge

0049 GMT [Dow Jones] KLCI likely to open higher, taking cue from gains on Wall Street Friday (DJIA +1.0%) after U.S. payrolls data showed declining pace of job losses in August; "the overall mood among participants (investors) will still be positive ahead of July trade data (due out 1001 GMT)," says MIMB, but cautions risk of pullback increasing with market treading in overbought territory while volume traded has been contracting. "Major support levels are expected to hold at 1,160, 1,140 and finally 1,100 levels. Traders should accumulate long positions and hold for at least six months," says MIMB. Dealer at bank-backed brokerage says market's immediate term outlook positive; expects KLCI to head toward 1,200 psychological resistance this week, but cautions profit-taking into strength may cap rise beyond this level. KLCI ended +0.4 at 1,178.74 Friday. (VGB)

DJ MARKET TALK: Accumulate Axiata Ahead Of Bullish Breakout -OSK

0100 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: Accumulate Axiata (6888.KU) above MYR3.00 as stock likely to end its consolidation phase when KLCI starts to trend higher, says OSK technical analyst Shin Kao Jack. Eyes MYR3.70 as upside target, but expects resistance at MYR3.18 and MYR3.24. Pegs cut-loss at below MYR2.90. To downside, immediate support seen at MYR3.00, followed by MYR2.90. "The immediate technical outlook of Axiata is currently Neutral, but will turn bullish once it cracks above the recent trading range," says Shin. Notes also stock has been on a steady rising trend since March, more than doubling in value to close at MYR3.10 (+0.3%) Friday. (VGB)

Malaysian shares tipped to gain next week

Watch carefully as the Labor Day holiday is upon us in the USA, the markets are closed in America on Monday. Expect oil to trade in a tight range, if it dips look to short term trade oil and solar stocks. Gold still strong, will be mostly on the sidelines, adding to casinos and swine flu if the right trades present themselves. Not chasing anything for the near term. September is holiday month. Remember, never chase the trade, there is always a new one every day. I'm watching the flu and casino stocks carefully as they are resilient. Star Cruises HK fell 10% last week so could be a good re-entry on that one.

GOOD LUCK THIS WEEK!!!

China’s Vaccine Approval Sends Flu Stocks Soaring
8/31/09

Flu news from China has driven the market higher over the last week, today sending stocks up by as much as 30%.

Last week the Beijing Public Health Bureau announced that Sinovac Biotech (SVA) will be among the providers of 2.8 million city-sponsored seasonal flu inoculations. Investors who bought into the close on Friday are winning big to start this week, as shares are trading at record highs on more news from the Far East.

Chinese health regulators deemed Beijing-based Sinovac’s H1N1 vaccine applicable for people between the ages of 3 and 60 years old, according to a statement by the company. According to Reuters, Sinovac expects to obtain a production license for its vaccine within a week.

The news is helping the Swine and Bird Flu Stocks Index today. As a whole, the Index is up by 4.5% today, and is now outpacing the S&P 500 by 9% over the last month.

Big winners include Canadian Alpha Pro Tech (APT), Oregon-based AVI BioPharma (AVII), and California’s Dynavax Technologies (DVAX). All three are up by over 8% in the flu stock rally.

Pharmaceutical giants Novartis (NVS) and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) are sitting out the rally, moving only fractionally.

Vical (VICL) is the Index’s runner-up on a weekly performance basis, up by 28% over the last five days. Meanwhile former hot stock Hemispherx Biopharma (HEB) has cooled off for the period, down -7%.

As flu season approaches in the northern hemisphere, the hype around swine flu stocks is growing. Expectations for an outbreak this fall reach as high as 50% of the U.S. population, and unlike the seasonal flu, swine flu is killing mostly people in their 20s, 30s, and 40s worldwide, according to the Associated Press.

The Swine and Bird Flu Stocks Index is the best place to follow vaccine related trends in the equity markets. Investors should also track the Airline Stocks Index, Hotel Stocks Index, and others that could potentially be impacted by a severe outbreak of the virus.

Investors can follow these Indexes as well as more than 250 others at tickerspy.com.

DJ MARKET TALK: KLCI Likely To Open Down; TA Sec Tips Buy On Dips

0039 GMT [Dow Jones] KLCI likely to open lower, taking lead from weaker U.S. stocks, says dealer with local brokerage; tips buying blue chips on dips. Separately, TA Securities says more bearish momentum and trend indicators for KLCI, highlighted by the overbought daily slow stochastics and 14-week RSI indicators, imply limited upside potential and point toward further consolidation this week; tips immediate support at 1,164, with 1,180 as resistance. KLCI ended Friday down 0.2% at 1,174.27; market closed Monday for holiday. TA also says investors should continue to buy on dips Axiata (6888.KU), Bumiputra-Commerce (1023.KU) and Public Bank (1295.KU) for medium-term upside, while lower liner steel and construction related stocks could be bargains on further dips given possible rising spending on infrastructure development under MYR67 billion stimulus plan.
